The George Lucas Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization “that documents, disseminates and advocates for innovation and the redesign of K-12 learning environments, including how technology can transform teaching and learning.” (linkedin.com)
One way that they reach the community is through their website www.edutopia.org. You are able to browse resources by grade level as well as blogs from a variety of people on the site that discuss different topics such as charter schools and educational technology. There are people that discuss what things have worked for them in their classrooms and what things have not worked as well. There is information about how to help students stop bullying which is an important topic in our community right now and much more information.
This is a video from Edutopia.org.
I think that this is great because it is a really nice resource for teachers to use. There is such an abundance of information on this site that teachers should be able to find most of the information that they are looking for through this. There is also a place on the website where the community can get involved and make donations.
